The Chesley Lake Cottage Association (CLCA) was formed in 1987 with a mandate to improve the quality of the lake water.  In 1988, the CLCA had raised the necessary funds to install the “Lake Lung” to add oxygen in the deepest part of the lake.  As of 2015 membership, membership had grown to 368 with an annual fee of $35.00.

CLCA’s mandate is to:

  • Monitor and improve lake water quality

  • Maintain the lake oxygenation bubbler system

  • Participate in available fish stocking programs

  • Address concerns brought forward by members of the CLCA

The Board maintains an ongoing relationship with agencies such as

  • The Township of South Bruce Peninsula

  • The Ministry of Natural Resources

  • The Ministry of the Environment

All households on the lake are encouraged to purchase a yearly membership for a modest fee.  This membership entitles the person to:

  • Full membership and member benefits to the Federation of Ontario Cottager’s Associations (FOCA)

  • Use the Chesley Lake Camp boat ramp

  • Vote at CLCA meetings

  • Receive newsletters

  • Actively participate with other members to keep the lake a prime vacation & recreation destination.
